Export the Google reviews of any business to a spreadsheet

Paste the Google Maps link of a place, or of several, and Google Maps Reviews Scraper returns every review Google lists for each, one row per review, with the rating, the full text, the exact date and the owner's reply. It reads only what any visitor can see, so it works for a competitor's places as well as your own.

What you get

In our tests, a dental office with 735 reviews returned all 735, going back to 2018. A place with a few thousand reviews took a minute or two.

Each row is one review, and every row carries the name and address of its place, so reviews from several places can share one sheet.

placeName, placeAddress
The place the review belongs to.
rating
The stars the reviewer gave, from 1 to 5.
text
The full review text.
textTranslated, language
Google's translation of a review written in another language, and the language it was written in.
publishedAt
The exact date and time the review was posted, or last edited.
ownerResponse
The owner's reply, with Google's note of when it was posted, such as 2 weeks ago.
photos
Links to the photos attached to the review.
aspectRatings
Scores for parts of the visit, such as food or service, when the reviewer gave them.
reviewerName, reviewerUrl
The reviewer's public name and profile link.
reviewId, reviewUrl
Google's id for the review, and a link to it on Google Maps.

How to run it

  1. Open Google Maps Reviews Scraper on Apify (opens in a new tab) and choose Try for free, then sign in or create a free account.
  2. Under Places, paste the Google Maps links of the places, one per line. Any link to a place works, including the short links from the Share button, and so does a place id. To find places by search instead, fill in Search terms and Location further down the form.
  3. Set Max reviews per place. It also caps what you pay.
  4. Choose an order under Sort reviews by. Newest first suits regular checks, and lowest rating first puts the complaints at the top.
  5. Turn off Include reviewer details if you do not need names and profile links, and turn on Only reviews with text to skip ratings with no words.
  6. Choose Start, wait for the run to finish, then choose Export and download CSV, Excel or JSON.
  7. For a weekly check, sort by newest first, enter 8 days under Only reviews newer than, save the input as a task and add it to a weekly schedule under Schedules. Each run then stops at the first older review. Match rows between runs on reviewId, which stays the same.

What it costs

Reviews cost US$0.35 per 1,000 on a free Apify account, so the 735 reviews of that dental office come to US$0.26. Reviews left out by your filters or your date limit are free.

For example, watching 20 places that each get about 30 new reviews a week comes to roughly 2,600 reviews a month, or US$0.91. The price is lower on paid Apify plans: US$0.30 per 1,000 on Starter and US$0.20 on Business.

These prices are read from the tool's Apify page every hour, and that page always shows the current ones.

Limits

  • Google does not show how many people liked a review to visitors who are not signed in, and the tool never signs in, so there is no likes column.
  • An edited review carries the date of its last edit, and its first date is not available.
  • A link to a whole area, such as a neighbourhood or the streets around a market, has no reviews. Check that each link points at the business itself.
  • It collects Google reviews only, not the reviews from other sites that Google shows beside them.
  • Reviews hold personal data, such as the reviewer's name and profile link, and sometimes other names in the text. Data protection law covers how you keep and use them.

When another way is better

For your own business, Google Business Profile shows every review and lets you reply. If you manage many locations, Google's Business Profile API gives your software their reviews.

If you only need each place's star rating and number of reviews, the Google Maps leads guide gets both for every business in an area, without the reviews.
