TaxQuarter on a computer, in the demonstration account: a gardener's second quarterly update before sending, with turnover of £24,770.00 and expenses of £8,902.37 giving a profit to date of £15,867.63, beside the first update as sent in July, and the deadline, 7 November 2026.
TaxQuarter on a phone, in the demonstration account: the year's deadlines from HMRC, with the first quarterly update sent on 28 July for the gardening business and the let flat, and the second ready to send, due 7 November 2026.
The demonstration account: on a computer, a quarterly update checked before sending; on a phone, the year's deadlines from HMRC.

From April 2026, sole traders and landlords in the UK with income over £50,000 must keep digital records and send HMRC an update every quarter. TaxQuarter keeps the records, adds them up in the categories HMRC uses, and sends the four updates and the year's final declaration.

Kinds of work: Custom software, Excel and reporting

  • Every sign-in asks for a code from an authenticator app, because HMRC's rules ask filing software to report how each person proved who they are.
  • Every message to HMRC carries the sixteen pieces of fraud prevention information the law requires, and HMRC's checker finds no errors in them.
  • Money is kept in whole pence and every deadline comes from HMRC, so nothing is rounded or guessed on the way.
